Moroccan interior minister meets US diplomat
Moroccan Minister of the Interior Driss Basri met in Rabat Monday with the United States delegate to the UN for special political affairs, Nancy Sodeberg.
Talks covered the "excellent friendship and cooperation relations" between the USA and Morocco. The two officials also reviewed recent developments in the Sahara issue following the reports of UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan.
Basri renewed Morocco's wish that the referendum be held in March 2000 and insisted that all refugees have the right to return to their families in the southern provinces as soon as possible.
