Jordanian premier: If you love Syria, I adore it

The Jordanian weekly al-Majd has quoted Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh as saying in an interview: "If you love Syria, I do adore it. If you are the advocates of openness with Syria and maintaining alliance with it I am the advocate of strategic integration with it in all political fields and on various economic levels."

The Jordanian prime minister added that the efforts of the Syrian leadership to restore Arab solidarity as stated in the speech made by President al-Assad at the Syrian People's Assembly upon taking his constitutional oath is fully in compliance with the efforts made by King Abdullah to revive Arab solidarity and strengthen the unity of the national ranks.

The paper added, on the other hand, that concerning relations with Syria, Jordanian Foreign Minister Abd al-Ilah al-Khatib received a Syrian delegate, former Syrian ambassador to Jordan Majid Abu Saleh, who arrived in Amman last week carrying a message to al-Khatib from his Syrian counterpart, Farouk al-Sharaa.
