Four armed men killed in Algeria

The Algerian daily al-Khabar said on Monday that Algerian security forces killed 4 armed men in the Farroush woods in the province of Jejiel during mopping-up operations the security forces carried out in the area.

The paper indicated that three Algerian citizens were killed on Sunday at a fake roadblock installed by the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) on the road linking Ein Mabad and Hass Bahbah in al-Jalfeh province.

For its part, the Algerian daily al-Aseel said that the army's forces besieged more than 200 armed men from the GIA in al-Akhdariyah and al-Qadereyah heights, which are 80 km from the capital, Algiers.

The paper added that bodies of some 15 armed men were found burnt as a result of the bombardment operations carried out by the army forces.
