Candidate: Algerian elections a chance for ending death and ruin

Originally published

The nominee of the Socialist Force Front for the Algerian presidency, Hussein Ayet Ahmed, said the elections scheduled for April 15 present a good chance to put an end to the ruin and death in Algeria.

He also referred to the commitments of Algerian President Liamine Zeroual, describing them as good intentions and national courage.

But he expressed his belief that all the previous results of elections were forged and did not settle anything.

Speaking to a symposium at Algeria Hotel, Ayet Ahmed said he is doing his best to convince the head of the independent committee for elections of the importance of international supervisors participating in the vote process.

He also called for removing the state of emergency and taking measures to work for the interest of those who are unjustly detained and prisoners of opinion rather than those are involved in killings.
