Gaddafi discusses establishing a front for southern people
Libyan Leader Moammer Gaddafi met yesterday with the representatives of the Afro-Asian Organization for Solidarity, whose conference was hosted by Cairo last week, under the title "The international situation and problems of the south."
Before Asian, African and European personalities in Cairo, Gaddafi raised up the idea of establishing a world people's front assuming responsibility for confronting the dangers that threaten the peace and independence of the southern hemisphere's people, specifically after the domination of United States of the world system.
Moreover, Gaddafi suggested that the solidarity organization in cooperation with pan-African, and Latin American organizations San Paulo Assemblage would begin to form a nucleus for establishing this front.
Gaddafi said that at the beginning of the 1990s, he suggested to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and South Africa's Nelson Mandela before they came to power, as well as Daniel Oretaga, the former president of Nicaragua, and the leader of the workers' party in Brazil, Lolo, discussing this idea and trying to gauge its acceptance on the international level.
