Sudanese foreign minister: 1999 a year for resuming relations with Arab states

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael announced his country's support for calling for an urgent Arab summit to discuss regional issues and unite Arab positions.

He stated that 1999 will be a year that represents the full return of Sudanese - Arab relations and normalization with the Arab states.

Ismael said in declarations published by the Sudanese news agency, SUNA, that he hopes the Arab ministers will reach clear stances at the Cairo meeting regarding the crisis between Iraq, the US and Britain, opposing military action and calling for a fair position to settle the crisis by the United Nations's Security Council.
