The permanent representatives at the Arab League are to hold a consultative meeting next Wednesday, to be chaired by AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid. The meeting aims at reviving the agenda of the 111st session of the AL council on the level of the Arab foreign ministers, due to be held on March 17 and 18 under the chairmanship of Somalia.

An official source at the AL said on Saturday that the consultative meeting is very important in order to carry out final consultations on the agenda of the ministerial council and items to be submitted by the AL members to the council.

The AL source continued that the meeting's agenda includes 36 items on various Arab economic, security, cultural and social issues, foremost being those of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, the question of Palestine, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the questions of Jerusalem, the refugees, and the Emirate's dispute with Iran regarding the three disputed Islands in the Arab Gulf.

The AL source added that discussions will also deal with questions pertaining to Israeli nuclear weapons, Israeli space activities, setting up a zone free from weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East and other related issues.
