Djibouti President gives up politics
Djibouti President Hassan Gouled Aptidon has announced that he will in April withdraw from the political scene after he held his country's presidency for nearly 22 years. AFP quoted Aptidon as saying in a message read at an extraordinary conference of the People's Progress Assembly, which the president presides over, that he will not nominate himself for the presidential elections in April.
