Djibouti informs Arab League of severing relations with Eritrea

Djibouti on Monday informed the Arab League of its decision to sever diplomatic relations with Eritrea. This was expressed in an official memorandum the Arab League received through Djibouti's permanent representative.

Djibouti said that its decision to sever diplomatic relations with Eritrea came after the former became sure of attempts made by Eritrea against the sovereignty of Djibouti.

Last week and during a meeting of AL permanent representatives, the representative of Djibouti noted attempts made by Eritrea to pull his country into the conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
