Syria rejects any change in Iraq that comes from outside

Originally published

Syrian Minister of Information Mohammed Salman stated yesterday that Damascus is against any change in Iraq that comes from outside forces.

Salman stated that Syria opposes the division of Iraq into small states and it demands the maintenance of its territorial integrity.

The Syrian minister accused Israel of being the real beneficiary of dividing Iraq. He added that dividing Iraq is meant to change the area's geography, which implies many more national and security threats than those posed by the current situation, asserting that Syria denounces any attack that could be practiced against Iraq's people.
