Arab parliaments to hold extraordinary session on Iraq
The Arab Parliamentary Union will hold on Sunday an extraordinary session on "the US-British aggression against Iraq," speaker of the Jordanian chamber of representatives, Abdelhadi Majali, announced on Wednesday.
The APU session will be headed by the organization's chairman, Egyptian People's Assembly Speaker Ahmed Fathi Srour.
Jordanian legislators had called Monday on Arab parliaments to meet and discuss measures to take following the air strikes.
The Jordanian lower chamber also adopted unanimously a non-constraining resolution asking for the unilateral lifting of sanctions enforced against Iraq.
The Jordanian official said the meeting will be opened by Crown Prince Hassan bin Talal.
