Iraq describes Kuwaiti position as treacherous

Originally published

Iraq described the stance of the ruling family in Kuwait as "cowardly and treacherous," accusuing Kuwait of offering facilities to U.S. and British war planes shelling Iraq.

The Iraqi News Agency quoted comments by Iraqi sources on Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber's statements that Kuwait was not part of the US attack on Iraq as saying that will not lift the guilt of the Kuwaiti ruling al-Sabah family over the "treachous" action it committed against Iraq.

The sources said that "the al-Sabah government can never act except according to this treachous action, where all that is stored in the sick minds of its leaders is malicious, hatred, unfaithfulness and blind obedience to its "British, American and Zionist colonial masters."
