Palestinian industrial zone opened in Gaza
A Palestinian industrial zone was opened on Tuesday in Gaza in the presence of US Secretary of Commerce William Daley and the industry official in the Palestinian Authority, Saadi al-Karnas, and Israeli Minister of Industry and Commerce Natan Sharansky.
The Gaza Industrial Estate was opened in the framework of implementing the Wye River agreement, which was signed between the Palestinian Authority and Israel and after Israel refused for more than a year and a half to allow this zone to be set up. The industrial zone occupies an area of 31,500 square meters on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
