Gulf states secretary confers with Middle East EU envoy

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Sheikh Jamil al-Hujeilan met on Monday at the headquarters of the GCC general secretariat with European Union special envoy for the Middle East, Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Sheikh Hujeilan and Moratinos reviewed during the meeting developments in the Middle East peace process, efforts exerted by the EU and its members states in giving a push forward to the Middle East peace process and for resuming negotiations on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks.

The two sides underlined the importance of committing to the realization of agreements signed between sides concerned in order to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.

The two sides also reviewed the development of economic and political relations between the countries of the GCC and the EU.
