Originally published

Moroccan air carrier "Royal Air Maroc" (RAM) and US "Transworld Airlines" (TWA) celebrated end of last week the signing last month of a "code-share" agreement between the two companies.

The ceremony was attended by US ambassador in Morocco, Edward Gabriel who made the trip to see the birth of what he called a "concrete symbol" for the consolidation of exchanges between the two countries.

Chairman-general manager of RAM, Mohamed Hassad, and head of TWA, Gerald Giltner also attended the ceremonies. RAM chairman-general manager said the US market represents for Morocco and RAM a strategic development interest, noting that the level of exchanges between the two countries increased by 50% in the last three years.

He added that RAM and TWA share the same international standards of customers services and performance and the code-share agreement will boost tourism exchanges and introduce Moroccan products to the USA through the TWA distribution network.

For TWA chairman, the US company, which has 186 jets servicing 118 destinations in south America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, will contribute to RAM ambitions to attain strategic goals. He added that the agreement will open for his company new perspectives in North Africa.
