Some 90 percent of Moroccan children are vaccinated
The vaccination campaigns staged annually in Morocco during the months of October and November helped immunize 90 percent of Moroccan children against deadly diseases.
The rate of the targeted diseases, including polio, that Morocco counts to eradicate in two years time, regressed tangibly, the health department said. The targeted diseases are TB, polio, tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough.
No polio case has been reported in Morocco since 1990, the department said, adding that it intends to immunize 2.8 million children under the age of 5 against polio and complete the vaccination of 250,000 children below the age of 5 against the five deadly diseases.
The department also plans to immunize nearly 1 million women against tetanus.
