Morocco launches vaccination days this week

Originally published

Morocco will launch this year its annual vaccination days on this October 14-18 for the struggle against deadly childhood diseases such as tetanus, tuberculosis, diphtheria, measles and whooping cough.

The second phase of the vaccination days is scheduled for November 19-23.

Every year Morocco organizes National Vaccination Days, part of a long-term strategy to protect mother and child from killer diseases which are regressing year after year.

Moroccan health officials say they expect this year some 2.3 million children under five to receive their oral polio vaccines.

Women of procreation age are to be vaccinated against tetanus.

The vaccination campaigns will be continued until the fulfillment of the goals set for 2000, i.e. total eradication of poliomyelitis, tetanus and measles.
