Originally published

A member of presidential department in Iran, Taha Hashemi, concluded his visit to Tunisia on Friday, ending his tour of the Maghreb region to direct calls for the heads of regional parliaments to take part in the meeting of the preliminary committee of the Islamic Parliamentary Union which will be hosted by Tehran in the middle of the coming month.

Hashemi conferred on Friday with the deputy chief of Tunisia's Deputies Council, Afifi Shiboub, to discuss prospects for upgrading parliamentary cooperation on the bilateral and regional levels.

The Iranian official to Tunisia came within context of the rapprochement between Tunisia and Tehran, reflected by the first meeting for joint meeting chaired by the foreign ministers of Tunisia and Tehran last year, and the current settings for holding second session of the committee in Tehran soon.
