Syrian President confers with Talibani

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad received in Damascus on Saturday, the secretary general of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Iraq, Jalal Talibani. President al-Assad, during the meeting which was held at al-Shaab palace, was briefed "on some details of recent developments, and contacts Talebani has made with some international parties."

Talks also centered on the course of developments in the region.
