GCC information ministers and the code of ethics
Meeting of the information ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council GCC concluded in Kuwait on Sunday. The ministers adopted several resolutions but no reference was made to the media code of ethics and basics monitoring the space channels.
The Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas said on Monday that, according to well-informed sources, the GCC information ministers could not reach a unanimous agreement to adopt a proposed formula concerning the "code of ethics," adding that "the three-hour intensive and sideline consultations could not eliminate this dispute."
Meanwhile, SANA' s correspondent in Kuwait said that the issue raised to control the Qatari al-Jazira space station and to oblige it to abide by the Gulf countries attitude and preventing it from attacking certain Arab Gulf states, was all behind the failure of the said meeting. And consequently to unite stances towards the "code of ethics."
