Al-Jazira space channel director: Jordan reaction is exaggerated

Director of The Qatari al Jazira space channel Muhammad Jasem al-Ali has announced that closing al-Jazira office in Amman is an exaggerated reaction.

He stressed that Al Jazira is an independent channel which covers all issues without bias. Al-Ali was quoted as saying "we have received a message from the Jordanian authorities warning us to shut down Amman's office. We do not know when the Jordanian authorities will permit the "channel" to resume its works.

On the program the Jordanian authorities used in taking the closure decision- a program about the ME peace process- Al-Ali said the program included chairman of the Jordanian delegation to Madrid conference held in 1991 and another person who opposes Wadi Araba agreement.
