Baghdad: Cohen's tour failed

Iraq described US Secretary of Defense William Cohen's tour of the Gulf as a failure, saying that the Iraqi people will not be frightened by the US threats.

The Iraqi government's spokesman said that the US has no authorization from the UN Security Council to launch a war against Iraq, adding that the US threats are considered a severe voilation to the UN's charter, international law and customs.

Moreover the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Information attacked the declarations of British Foreign Minister Robin Cook, in which the latter accused Iraq of seeking to dominate the whole region and threaten its security.
