Moroccan premier to visit southern provinces on Green March

Originally published

Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi will visit Morocco's southern provinces as of November 23, "Al-Itihad Al-Ishtiraki" daily reported.

Several cultural, sporting and artistic events will be launched during the visit, the first since Youssoufi was appointed prime minister last spring.

Morocco will mark on November 6 the 23rd anniversary of the Green March, which peacefully liberated the Moroccan Sahara from the yoke of Spanish occupation.

Some 350,000 marchers participated in the Green March, considered one of the landmarks in Morocco's modern history.
