Algerian presidential elections

Well-informed Algerian sources expected that Algerian nation's council (parliament) member Ismael Hamadani will be assigned to form the new Cabinet which will supervise the organization of Presidential elections to be held in April 1999 in Algeria.

The Algerian daily al-Aseel said that the government reshuffle will be made only after the national people's council ratifies the fiscal law for 1999.

For its part the Algerian daily "al-Alal al-Seyasi" (the political world) reported that a cell was formed in al-Buwera province to support the nomination of current Algerian Premier Ahmad Ouyahia for the forthcoming Presidential elections.

Key local figures representing the Algerian Democratic National Coalition are taking part in the cell.
