The Algerian daily al-Khabar reported on Thursday, quoting well-informed sources, that the Algerian government will witness a partial reshuffle within the coming days, especially in the Ministries of Justice and the Interior.

Several parties called for the present government to be dissolved and for forming a new plenary government to prepare for and supervise the forthcoming presidential elections.

During their meeting on Wednesday with Algerian President Liamine Zeroual, Algerian political parties that are not represented in the national people's council underlined the importance of ensuring security, and the proper technical as well as legal conditions in order to carry out the forthcoming presidential elections in an atmosphere of complete fairness and transparency.

During the meeting, President Zeroual stressed commitment to the policy of consultation and his belief that unanimously exerted efforts will be of more useful impact on the progress of the country.

He reiterated that his decision to hold early presidential elections and not to nominate himself embodies the principle of rotating authority, expressing commitment to the credibility and transparency of the next presidential elections.
