Saudi Arabia has expressed concern and regret over the events taking place in the Islamic world and called for unifying Islamic ranks for the interests of Islamic communities.

During his chairmanship over a meeting of the Saudi Cabinet on Monday in Riyadh, King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz said that the consequences of disputes arising between peoples and countries constitute a big obstacle to the progress of the Islamic nation.

The Saudi King asserted that the Islamic nation would be able to eliminate its difficult conditions through "maintaining constructive dialogue and fraternal understanding."

He asserted the need to maintain Arab and Islamic solidarity and to invest and mobilize all potentials for the "welfare, security and stability of the Islamic nation and Muslims."
