Arab League: Weapons inspection groups lost credibility, Iraq should be inside Arab fold
The assistant secretary-general of the Arab League, Ahmed Bin Hali, stated that Iraq has implemented the resolutions of the UN Security Council, and nothing remains outstanding except a small portion of the agreement, asserting that Iraq is suffering from the sanctions.
Also Bin Hali said the international inspection group UNSCOM has lost its credibility and goals, adding that they are fulfilling other objectives allied with other countries, and not implementing UN Security Council resolutions.
The ambassador added that it is Iraq's right to demand a comprehensive review of all that has been achieved so far in terms of inspection results, as all the Arab states and the Arab League are greatly concerned with the return of Iraq to its natural position as a integral part of the Arab nation, and to help confronting its challenges.
In the same context, Bin Hali said the Arab League is trying to resolve the issue of Kuwaiti prisoners of war in Iraq, then it will seek to bring Iraq back into the Arab fold and remove obstacles facing Arab solidarity.
