Moroccan employment minister in Canada

Originally published

Moroccan Minister of Employment Khalid Alioua starts Monday a three-day visit to Canada where he is to confer with several officials.

Alioua, who is also minister of social development, solidarity, and vocational training, is to meet in Montreal Canadian federal minister of human resources, Pierre Pettigrew.

He will afterwards visit Quebec for talks with Canadian minister of state for employment and solidarity, Louise Harel, and assistant undersecretary for employment policies, Yvon Bourdeau.

Quebec's experience in setting up a research center on employment and in organizing a forum on employment will be discussed at the talks.

Morocco and Quebec, whose cooperation in matters of vocational training dates back to the early 1980s, signed last February a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the fields of vocational training and employment promotion.
