Moroccan economy's results are encouraging, King says
King Hassan II praised on Friday the "encouraging" results achieved by Morocco's economy, which has managed not only to resist the financial crisis hitting the world economy, but to continue its march towards growth.
"Our country managed not only to resist the tempest, but also to persevere serenely and vigilantly on the path it traced," the sovereign said in a speech at the opening of the fall session of the Moroccan Parliament.
He underlined that Morocco has posted in the past few years an average growth rate of 3.2%, while several European countries, described as "developed," failed to reach this rate.
Morocco can rightfully be proud of these results and keep on going on the same path, the sovereign said.
Touching on the issue of employment, King Hassan II said Morocco generated 182,000 jobs annually between 1990 and 1998 with 38,000 yearly job seekers are unable to find jobs. The Kimg said in this regard that no country has managed so far to illuminate the problem of unemployment.
