Suspicions concerning delivering suspects in Lokerbie issue
The Israeli plane carrying dangerous chemicals used to make nerve gas weapons that crashed into a Holland apartment in 1992 is giving Libya additional thought about delivering to Holland for trial the two accused Libyans suspected in the 1988 Lockerbie explosion .
Previously, Libya had expressed great concern for insuring that a fair trial can be held in the Netherlands, in a US military base where Scottish judges would hold a trial that the US and the UK had agreed to, but Libya had not yet.
Arab diplomatic sources in Cairo said today that the discovery of chemical substances carried on the Israeli plane increases suspension that the Libyan leader colonel Moammar Ghaddafi would deliver his citizens to be tried in a Scottish court in the Netherlands.
Diplomatic sources at the Arab League told ArabicNews.com that the Netherlands' accident confirms Gaddafi's suspicions that the Lockerbie suspects could be fairly tried in the Netherlands, in case they are delivered for trial before a Scottish judicial court.
