The Arab League has asserted that Israel is behind the Turkish statements of escalation against Syria in an attempt to put pressure on it to change its stances concerning the Middle East peace process principles. The AL's assistant secretary general for political affairs, Muhammad Zakaraya Ismael, confirmed that the recent Turkish threats are the results of the strategic alliance between Ankara and Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, The secretary-general of the Arab Journalists Union (AJU) has condemned the Turkish threats against Syria and called for solving the dispute between Syria and Turkey through peaceful means. In its statement, the general secretariat confirmed the necessity of achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Meanwhile, the general secretariat of the Arab Teachers Union denounced the Turkish threats against Syria and voiced its support for Syria's steadfastness. In a statement, the Arab teachers' general secretariat alleged that the Turkish threats against Syria come within the framework of a US - Israeli plan to undermine Syria's position.

The Jordanian Vocational Unions condemned the Turkish threats against Syria. Jordanian opposition parties denounced threats made by the rulers of Turkey against Syria and the huge military buildup carried out by Turkey along its Syrian borders. The parties announced total support for Syria against Turkish provocation, which they said serves the interests and objectives of the suspicious Turkish-Israeli alliance to underline Syria's steadfastness "against Zionist conspiracies."

A statement which was released by the higher coordination committee of the Jordanian opposition parties said the military threats made by Turkish officials serve the Zionist - US schemes which aim at underlining Syria's steadfastness and forcing it to get involved in the settlement project according to the Israeli conditions.

The opposition parties called upon the Jordanian government " to announce a clear stand in support of Syria, a stand similar to that advocated by the Jordanian people, by all its political parties, vocational trade unions, political forces and people's organizations, supporting Syria against the Turkish aggressions."

The Afro-Asian Peoples Solidarity Organization AAPSO has condemned the Turkish threats and massing up of troops on the Syrian borders. It warned that the escalation of tension in the region and start of long wars will serve no one.

In a statement it issued in Cairo, AAPSO expressed great concern over the escalation and threats adopted by Ankara's government against Syria recently. It added that there are no sound reasons for that. Turkey has religious, cultural and historical relations with the Arab states. It has also trade interests and storing of waters and long borders. "This all demands good neighbor relations and cooperation with Syria."

AAPSO indicated that tensions between Syria and Turkey were highlighted after the activation of the Israeli role.

Further reports said an official source at the Omani Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the Sultanate of Oman's government is worried about the sudden Israeli escalation against Syria.

The source added that the Omani government backs all exerted efforts "to find a peaceful solution to the crisis triggered by Turkey against Syria."
