Libyan people's conference today, unhappiness with Arab states position
The Libyan general people's conference, the largest legislative organization in Tripoli, will hold its annual session today.
Libyan sources said the general people's conference will abolish the Ministry of Arab Unity and its minister, Gommha El-Kazafy, in protest against the Arab position toward the Lokerbie issue, which is weak compared to that taken by the Organization of African Unity.
Libyan Television showed a black map of Africa on which Libya was located in green, and the previous map of the Arab world was abolished.
The conference meets once or twice a year to discuss social, economic, foreign and domestic policies and to ratify laws, the budget and appoint the new government.
