Kuwait: Islamists win student elections
The Kuwaiti dailies on Wednesday said that the Islamists for the 20th straight year won the elections of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students. The papers added that the Islamists won all seats of the Union's executive committee.
In second place came an independent coalition containing, in particular, students belonging to rich merchant families, in the elections in which some 9,400 students took part. The papers added that liberal candidates occupied the third position while in previous years they used to compete with the Islamists.
