Algerian president to meet with political parties on presidential elections

Algerian President Liamine Zeroual will meet next Wednesday with political parties in the country with the objectives of making consultations and exchanging views on the early presidential elections set before next February.

The National Liberation Front party stressed that the meeting with Zeroual means that he will adhere to democracy in the context of international laws.

For its part the Peaceful Society Movement said it will not reveal the proposals to be submitted to the president of the republic during the meeting. The same position was also advocated by the Rally for Culture and Democracy.

Meanwhile, the Socialist Forces Front stressed that its decision to participate or not in the presidential elections is linked to results of the forthcoming meetings between President Zeroual and the political parties.
