Jordanian deputies council calls for halt of normalization with Israel
53 out of 80 members of the Jordanian deputies council called for halting normalization with Israel, which they said is only benefiting Israel due to the deadlocked peace process and the arrogance of the Israeli position.
The members also called for resisting the sanctions on Iraq and for backing up what the Africans have already done by challenging the sanctions imposed on Libya.
Meanwhile, deputy Abdul Karim El-Danami, who spoke on behalf of the 53 members who signed an "honor accord," said the peace treaty Jordan signed with Israel was on the basis of a round of talks regulated by comprehensive and just peace demanding that the Arab choice would be a complete restoration of the Arab usurped rights.
In their collective statement, the members asked for a similar resolution for Iraq and Sudan as that taken by the Organization of African Unity to challenge the sanctions imposed on Libya.
