Amman hosts RCCS conference

The twenty eighth conference of the General commission of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies opened in Amman on Tuesday. The conference was attended by Arab delegates.

During their three-day deliberations, the delegates will discuss the report of the secretary general of the Arab Red Cross and Red Crescent societies and the plans for these societies. They will also review the general budget of the general secretariat for 1997-1998 and ratify the estimated budget for 1998-1999.

The conference will also listen to reports on the activities of the national societies and discuss approval to modify the basic constitution of the organization.

A new secretary general of the Arab Red Cross and Crescent societies will be selected, along with a vice president for the general secretary and members of the executive committee.
