Originally published

Security information from the western Bekaa and Rashayya on Thursday night said that the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army (SLA) suddenly withdrew from Toumat Neiha position in the western Bekaa after completely destroying its fortifications.

A huge explosion was heard as far as ten of kilometers away from the region. The explosion was followed by an organized withdrawal of SLA personnel from the position.

A correspondent from the Lebanese daily al-Nahar in Jezzine quoted SLA sources as saying that this army had intentionally destroyed certain fortifications at the said position for security reasons, adding that the position is still under the control of the SLA.

The Lebanese resistance emphasized the explosion at the position and its evacuation by SLA soldiers. It added that the repeated painful attacks it mounted against unit 20 of the SLA, especially against the Toumat Neiha position was the main reason for the collapse of "the morale of the SLA soldiers."

Toumat Neiha is located in a mountainous area between the Jezzine district and the southern part of al-Bekaa plain.
