President al-Assad sends condolences on assassination of Iranian diplomats

President al-Assad on Wednesday sent a cable of condolence to Iranian President Muhammad Khatami on the assassination of the Iranian diplomats in al-Mazar al-Sharif by the Afghan Taleban movement. President al-Assad strongly denounced this "ugly crime" which, he said, is in contradiction with international law and with the sublime values of Islam.
