Syria denies contacts to rally against Turkish-Israeli alliance
Well-informed Syrian sources have denied a report by an Arab news agency on Sunday that Damascus decided to make contacts and urgent intensive contacts with Egypt, Iran, Iraq and Greece and other regional and international decision-making capitals to brief these sides on the atmospheres resulting from the Turkish-Israeli alliance.
These sources told the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai' al-Am today: "We are careful to maintain our relations with Turkey and we do not intend to escalate tensions with it."
The sources said that any practical measures will be postponed until after the convening of the ministerial council of the Arab League to be held soon in Cairo.
