Saudi successor to meet with Blair tomorrow, to head to Washington

Saudi Crown Prince Abdallah Bin Abdul Aziz will visit Britain to meet with the queen at Balmoral in Scotland and with Prince Charles.

Crown Prince Abdallah will also meet with British Prime Minister Tony Blair to discuss the developments in the current confrontation between Iraq and the United Nations, the possibility of fighting breaking out between Iran and Afghanistan, Gulf affairs, the Middle East peace process and commercial relations between the two countries.

Crown Prince Abdallah will head to the U.S. on September 23 to meet with President Clinton, Vice-President Al Gore, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and a number of officials in the US administration.

This visit is the first for Prince Abdallah to Europe in 10 years, although he has visited a number of Arab countries.

The Saudi prince is publicly criticizing the U.S., especially Clinton's position toward the Israeli government in the peace process.
