Mubarak confers with Hariri

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak today received in Cairo Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who arrived in Cairo earlier in the day. Egypt's Prime Minister Dr. Kamal El-Ganzouri was also present at the meeting.

Talks dealt with bilateral relations, the latest developments concerning the Middle East peace process, the situation in south Lebanon and the continued Israeli military escalation against it. Hariri will preside over his country's delegation to the meetings of the Egyptian-Lebanese joint higher committee. On the Egyptian side, the two-day committee meetings will be led by Ganzouri.
