US - Tunisian military committee to convene in October

The American - Tunisian military committee will convene during October in Tunis to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral military and the security cooperation.

The meetings were to be held in May but were delayed at the request of the U.S., a matter which gave Tunisian Minister of Defense Habib Ben Yehia the chance to visit Washington last July to hold talks with high-ranking military and political officials to study projects to develop bilateral military cooperation.

Tunisian source said today that, "The Americans agreed on all the support requests presented by the Tunisians within implementing their plans to modernize the armed forces as well as its equipment."
