Syrian delegation travels to Ankara
A Syrian official delegation led by deputy Foreign Minister Adnan Omran will arrive today in Ankara for the first visit of its kind in three years, MENA reported.
The visit of the Syrian delegation comes in the course of Syrian and Arab efforts to initiate a dialogue with Turkey and halt the accelerated steps of Turkish-Israeli cooperation, especially in the military field.
Omran's visit is in reply to two earlier visits made by officials at the Turkish Foreign Ministry to Syria.
Diplomatic sources said that the Syrian delegation will be headed by the assistant foreign minister ambassador Adnan Omran, and includes ex-Syrian ambassador in Ankara Abd El-Aziz El-Refaei who is currently working as an advisor in the ministry.
The delegation will meet Turkish minister Ismail Gem.
