The state security court in Bahrain on Sunday sentenced 16 persons to terms of one to four years in prison on charges of causing disorder and damaging state property.

The Bahraini dailies issued on Sunday were quoted as saying that the court accused all the convicted persons of arson attacks against public properties, and others for owning publications and printed materials disseminating false rumors that incite acts of disorder and violence in the country.

Meanwhile, Bahrain condemned the decision of the Israeli government aiming to Judaize Jerusalem and destroy its Arab identity as well as its demographic structure. The Gulf News Agency quoted Bahrain's information minister, Muhammad Ibrahim al-Mutawe, as saying following the weekly meeting of the Bahraini cabinet that the Israeli decision constitutes a flagrant aggression against the Palestinian territories and a violation of all agreements and decisions of relevance to holy Jerusalem and the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Bahraini Cabinet called upon the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and halt these Israeli measures which obstruct all efforts exerted to establish peace in the region. The Bahraini cabinet voiced its full support of the Arab position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and their confrontations of the Israeli ambitions and expansionist schemes.
