Sudanese FM speaks of historic relations with Egypt

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail said yesterday that no one can ignore the historical, cultural, and geographical relations between Sudan and Egypt, adding that it is difficult to find two countries that enjoy relations similar to those between Sudan and Egypt.

He also emphasized the "strategic importance" which Egypt enjoys, describing it as the balance of power for the Arab world and saying that Egypt is a political power that can affect matters on the international and Arab levels.

The Sudanese foreign minister confirmed the importance of communications between the two sides.
