Sudanese visas to Egypt continue as normal
Ambassador Mostafa Abdul Aziz, assistant Egyptian foreign minister for consulate affairs abroad, stated yesterday that Sudanese visas to Egypt are being continued within the normal bases and restraints.
The ambassador denied news reports about that the Egyptian consulate in Khartoum is preventing Sudanese citizens from receiving Egyptian visas. Aziz's comments came in response to reporters' questions yesterday.
Earlier reports had said that for security reasons the Egyptian consulate in Khartoum was instructed to stop giving entry visas to Sudanese citizens who want to visit Egypt.
The Sudanese daily al-Anbaa was quoted on Friday as saying that some 15 Sudanese citizens carrying valid visas who arrived in Cairo during the past two days on board a plane affiliated to the Kenyan airways company were prevented from getting into Egypt and no explanation was given by the Egyptian authorities on the incident.
