Meetings of the Arab national conference will be held for the first time in Cairo from April 27 - 30.

The secretary general of the conference, Abdel Hamid Mahri, said that many intellectuals dedicated to the goals of the Arab nation will meet to discuss measures for achieving these goals. They plan to do this through public efforts, by raising Arab awareness of the nation's goals as represented in its urbanization project, Arab unity, democracy, independent development, justice and national independence.

The conference was previously held in Tunisia in March 1990, Amman, Jordan in May 1991, and in Beirut, Lebanon in April 1992 until 1995 and again in 1997.
