Iraq notes outstanding issues with Iran
Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Sahaf said on Sunday following his arrival from Iran that there are issues still suspended between Iraq and Iran.
In a statement to Iraqi television, Sahaf said the forthcoming meeting of the Iraqi-Iranian joint committees will be an opportunity to settle certain suspended issues between the two countries. He went on to say that the Iraqi-Iranian committees have achieved genuine progress in several matters, especially in relation to the Iraqi prisoners in Iran.
During his one-week visit to Iran Sahaf agreed with his Iranian counterpart Kamal Kharazi to set up two joint committees in charge of humanitarian, trade and pilgrimage affairs.
