Commercial agreement between Egypt and Palestine
A new commercial agreement for supporting Egyptian products in the Palestinian market was signed during joint commercial committee meetings headed by Egyptian Minister of Commerce and Supply Dr. Ahmed Goweili and Palestinian Minister of Planning Nabil Shaath.
The meeting aimed at removing all obstacles from the states' economic relations. The Israeli government imposes restrictions upon the imported goods to the self-rule lands, and these restrictions confine commerce and economic cooperation between Egypt and Palestine.
The volume of the Palestinian imports reaches $2.8 miller, of which Israel exports about $2.2 miller, with the remaining $0.6 miller coming from other states.
