Syrian President stresses commitment to peace to US congressional delegation

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Thursday met with a US congressional delegation, led by Congressman Nick Rahall, and members of the accompanying delegation.

Talks dealt with developments in the region and the stalemate in the peace process. President al-Assad stressed Syria's commitment to peace and her readiness to restart peace talks with Israel from the point they stopped at.
